Anew Labs has been named to the 2026 Endpoints 11 list published by Endpoints News, the life-sciences media outlet under the Financial Times. The list recognizes the 11 most closely watched biotech startups each year. This year's honorees were selected by the Endpoints editorial team from more than 150 nominations and unveiled on the evening of September 24, US Eastern Time, at the awards gala in Boston.
In its coverage, Endpoints News focused on Anew Labs' progress from developing biological AI models toward actual drug development. The team had previously released open-source models including protein structure prediction, and has continued to expand into dynamic conformational sampling and prediction for small-molecule–protein systems, as well as the generation of small molecules, peptides and antibodies — demonstrating efforts to apply AI capabilities across multiple stages of drug discovery.
Research transparency and concrete pipeline progress are the two strengths emphasized in the coverage. The report compared Anew with Isomorphic Labs, incubated by Google DeepMind: whereas Isomorphic discloses limited detail about its models and methods, Anew publishes its research, allowing the outside world to gain deeper insight into its AI technology. The report also noted that, at a stage when its spin-off had not yet been completed, Anew had already disclosed more pipeline progress than heavily funded AI drug-discovery companies such as Isomorphic and Xaira Therapeutics, including an IL-17-targeting small-molecule program that had entered preclinical lead compound optimization.
In Endpoints News' view, these advances offer an early indication of Anew's potential to advance biological AI research and translate it into concrete drug-discovery programs. Whether these technologies can ultimately deliver further gains in R&D efficiency and clinical value remains to be validated.
